Shraddha Woltron aim to make people smile with thier music and this was the intention behind their latest single ‘Will Smiff Sing This Song’
Get to know Shraddha Woltron, who have just released their new song ‘Will Smiff Sing This Song’.
Who are the band members and what do they play? “This collaboration is written by Shraddha, I reached out to Francis as his voice would really suit this track and produced by Mix!”
How and where did you get together? “Just randomly in March when we had just become furloughed in London, and had an out of the blue flow of melodies and lyrics that just popped in my head and then moved to Vienna where we got the chance to concentrate on writing songs.”
What are the band’s main influences? “Ziggy Marley, Mike Love, Tash Sultana, Rising Appalachia , KBong”
Have you played any notable gigs, festivals or other events? Likewise radio or TV appearances? “Although new to music and due to current circumstances with public events being closed I have been lucky to have had some songs played on BBC Introducing Radio and through that play got connected by other local radio stations.”
Are there any other interesting or amusing happenings – no matter how small – that the band have been involved with that would be of interest to those who like your music? “Before lockdown I was in the cycle of working hard to save up to go traveling to the next place etc, When went to Australia I overstayed my visa and got a 3 year ban from the country.”

Where was the single/EP/album recorded and who was involved in its production?
“All over! Italy with production by Mix Jones, Nigeria with Francis vocals, and Austria with writing, backing and mixing.”
Is there a particular ethos behind the single/EP/album or any particular music styles or events that inspired it?
“All songs that I write are made intentionally to be lyrically suitable for all ages, with the aim to uplift and flood joy to the listener while letting the body have a bop and groove.”
Can you briefly describe what the song/each song is about?
“If you are releasing an album then either describe the thinking behind the project or choose a couple of lead tracks to focus on. This song is about everyone, everywhere, all ages, faiths, colours having a good time together, moving, singing or whatever makes their hearts warm.”
Were there any notable or amusing happenings surrounding the recording/production of the EP?
“As above, list whatever might be of relevance. This song was always written for it to be sung by will smith. The moment the chorus came in my head I rushed home to write it down with his voice I my head. I recored the song mimicking my impression of his voice and how I felt he would sing it.”

“I have always had this joy in making people smile and my songs are that urge in music.”
